If you store your Excel files in an online storage platform, you can access them straight from the Sheetgo web app and connect them to Google Sheets.

If you do not store your Excel files online yet, it is necessary to transfer them to your Cloud storage.

You could do that individually, one file at a time, but there are a few things to consider.

An effective dashboard or accurate report needs to be fed recent, up-to-date (or live!) data. Manually saving Excel files to Google Sheets is not efficient or reliable. Your data will quickly become out-of-date, plus it’s incredibly time-consuming to have to keep repeating the process. If you want to use source data from Excel files to feed your Google Data Studio reports, the best solution is to set up an automated system.

As an example, we have listed the steps below to sync your offline Excel files to your Google Drive automatically (note that you can do this automatically for any cloud storage solution).
[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”2_5,3_5″ custom_padding_last_edited=”on|phone” _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” background_image=”https://static.sheetgo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/banner_background-connection-looker.webp” custom_margin=”30px||30px||true|false” custom_padding=”30px|30px|30px|30px|true|true” custom_padding_tablet=”20px||||false|true” custom_padding_phone=”30px||||false|true” hover_enabled=”0″ background_color_phone=”#f6f8f9″ background_last_edited=”on|tablet” background_enable_color_phone=”on” background_enable_image_phone=”off” background_size_tablet=”cover” border_radii=”on|12px|12px|12px|12px” global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″][et_pb_column type=”2_5″ _builder_version=”4.22.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”3_5″ _builder_version=”4.22.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.22.2″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding_tablet=”|||200px|false|false” custom_padding_phone=”|||0px|false|false” custom_padding_last_edited=”on|phone” text_orientation_tablet=”right” text_orientation_phone=”center” text_orientation_last_edited=”on|tablet” global_colors_info=”{}”]
Automatically connect Excel to Data Studio
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”https://app.sheetgo.com/” url_new_window=”on” button_text=”START NOW” button_alignment=”left” button_alignment_tablet=”right” button_alignment_phone=”center” button_alignment_last_edited=”on|phone” _builder_version=”4.22.2″ _module_preset=”default” custom_button=”on” button_text_size=”16px” button_text_color=”#ffffff” button_bg_color=”#2979ff” button_border_width=”0px” button_border_radius=”6px” button_font=”|700|||||||” button_use_icon=”off” custom_margin=”20px||0px||false|false” custom_padding=”15px|20px|15px|20px|true|true” saved_tabs=”all” global_colors_info=”{}” button_bg_color__hover_enabled=”on|hover” button_bg_color__hover=”rgba(41,121,255,0.7)” button_bg_enable_color__hover=”on”][/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.16″ global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.16″ global_colors_info=”{}”]

How to save Excel to Google Drive automatically?

Start your own automated data flow by installing Google’s Backup and Sync software. Backup and Sync is designed as a way to safely back up all your files, but you can use it as way to sync Excel with Google Sheets.

Select the Excel files you want to use as a your data source and save them in the same folder.
