Probably many of us are aware of the fact that we can format the entire cell contents. But Google Sheets also lets us use multiple formats in a single cell. This article shows you the different possibilities of how you can<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong><em>format cells in Google Sheets.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;]<h3>Format cells in Google Sheets<\/h3>\n<p>For the purposes of illustration, please consider the text in the cell B2 as shown in the screenshot below.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/static.sheetgo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/format-cells-in-google-sheets-1.png&#8221; alt=&#8221;format cells in google sheets 1&#8243; title_text=&#8221;format cells in google sheets 1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;]<p>Within the entire string of text, we will format the word \u2018bold\u2019 to \u2018<strong>bold<\/strong>\u2018, \u2018italics\u2019 to \u2018<em>italics<\/em>\u2018, \u2018strikethrough\u2019 to \u2018<del>strike through<\/del>\u2018. And similarly, convert the sub-text \u2018red\u2019 to \u2018<span>red<\/span>\u2018, \u2018different font\u2019 to \u2018<span>different font<\/span>\u2018, and \u2018different-sized font\u2019 to \u2018<span>different-sized font<\/span>\u2018.<\/p>\n<p>In order to be able to do that, we need to double-click on the cell. Then we need to select individual sub-texts using either the keyboard or mouse. To start with, we will select the text \u2018bold\u2019.
